Can I contact a peer even if I don't have HIV myself, but am a relative or partner?

Yes, you can also contact one of our peers if, for example, you are a couple where one of you is living with HIV.

You don’t need to make an appointment, you can contact a peer directly and they will respond as soon as they can. If the peer you contacted is not available at the moment, you will be connected to an administrator who will offer another peer contact.

Yes, you do not need to provide your real name when contacting a peer here on Peer2Peer, but you do need to provide an email address so we reply to you.

No, we do not keep records or document conversations and communications.

You are free to contact multiple peers to test and see who suits you best.

All peer calls and support offered are completely free of charge.

All peers in Peer2Peer are bound by confidentiality, and information that emerges in conversations is not passed on to unauthorized parties. In certain situations, there may be reasons for exceptions, for example if there is a danger to children, a danger to life or serious injury, or a serious crime is planned to be committed.

Becoming a peer on Peer2Peer

What is the process for becoming a peer on Peer2Peer?

We organize courses to educate you in the role of a peer and what it means to be a peer in the gallery at Peer2Peer. After the training, you can inform us about your interest in becoming a peer. We will then assess your suitability according to our guidelines and take the next step of recording videos about you and posting your profile in the gallery.

Yes, for example, you need to be living with HIV yourself and be comfortable with your profile being displayed openly.
